Our Commitment to Safeguarding

At Padium, safeguarding is a core priority across all areas of our organisation. Padel Sports LTD (“Padium”) is committed to providing a safe, inclusive, respectful, and welcoming environment for all individuals engaging with our facilities, services, programmes, events, and staff.

We recognise our responsibility to safeguard and promote the welfare of:

  • Children and young people
  • Vulnerable adults
  • Students and trainees
  • Employees and contractors
  • Visitors and members of the public

We operate in accordance with UK safeguarding legislation, guidance, and best practice standards.

Safeguarding Principles

Padium is committed to:

  • Protecting children and vulnerable adults from harm, abuse, neglect, exploitation, and discrimination
  • Promoting health, wellbeing, dignity, and respect
  • Providing a safe sporting and working environment
  • Ensuring safeguarding concerns are identified and acted upon appropriately
  • Encouraging all staff, coaches, volunteers, and visitors to report concerns without delay
  • Maintaining clear safeguarding procedures and accountability

All safeguarding concerns, disclosures, or allegations should be reported directly to the Designated Safeguarding Lead as soon as possible.

If there is an immediate risk of harm or danger, individuals should contact emergency services by dialling 999.

Reporting a Safeguarding Concern

Anyone associated with Padium may raise a safeguarding concern, including:

  • Members
  • Parents or guardians
  • Coaches
  • Employees
  • Contractors
  • Visitors
  • Members of the public

Concerns may relate to:

  • Physical abuse
  • Emotional abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Neglect
  • Bullying or harassment
  • Grooming or exploitation
  • Online abuse
  • Discriminatory behaviour
  • Unsafe conduct or environments

Reports should include as much relevant information as possible and be sent promptly to the Safeguarding Lead via email.

All reports are treated seriously, sensitively, and confidentially where appropriate.

Safer Recruitment & Staff Responsibilities

Padium is committed to safer recruitment practices and maintaining high professional standards.

Where appropriate, we may:

  • Conduct DBS checks
  • Verify references and employment history
  • Assess suitability for working with children or vulnerable adults
  • Provide safeguarding awareness and training

All staff, coaches, contractors, and volunteers are expected to:

  • Act professionally and responsibly
  • Maintain appropriate boundaries
  • Follow safeguarding procedures
  • Report concerns immediately
  • Promote a respectful and inclusive environment
Child Protection

Padium adopts a zero-tolerance approach to abuse, harm, or exploitation involving children and young people.

We are committed to:

  • Creating safe sporting environments
  • Listening to and respecting children
  • Acting in the best interests of the child at all times
  • Responding appropriately to disclosures or concerns
  • Working with parents, guardians, and relevant authorities where necessary

Any concerns relating to a child’s welfare will be managed in accordance with UK safeguarding guidance and statutory obligations.

Vulnerable Adults

Padium recognises that some adults may be vulnerable due to age, disability, illness, mental health, or personal circumstances.

We are committed to:

  • Protecting vulnerable adults from abuse or neglect

  • Ensuring equal access to safe participation in sport and activities

Online Safety & Digital Safeguarding

Padium recognises the importance of online safety in modern sport and communication.

We aim to:

  • Promote safe and respectful online behaviour
  • Protect personal information and privacy
  • Prevent online bullying, harassment, or exploitation
  • Ensure appropriate use of digital platforms and communications

Inappropriate online conduct involving staff, members, or participants may result in disciplinary action and referral to relevant authorities where necessary.

All participants are expected to contribute to a safe and respectful environment.

Photography & Video Recording

Photography and video recording may occasionally take place during events, training sessions, or activities for operational, promotional, or safeguarding purposes.

Padium will take reasonable steps to:

  • Use images appropriately and responsibly
  • Respect privacy and consent considerations
  • Prevent misuse of photography or recordings involving children or vulnerable individuals

Anyone with concerns regarding photography or recording should contact the Safeguarding Lead.

Health & Safety

Padium is committed to providing safe facilities, equipment, and operating procedures to minimise risk and protect all users of our venues and services.

We regularly review:

  • Venue safety
  • Risk management procedures
  • Incident reporting processes
  • Staff responsibilities
  • Emergency procedures
Whistleblowing

Padium encourages all individuals to raise genuine concerns regarding misconduct, unsafe practices, safeguarding failures, or inappropriate behaviour.

Individuals raising concerns in good faith will be treated fairly and without retaliation.

Preventing Radicalisation & Extremism

Padium recognises the importance of safeguarding individuals from radicalisation, extremism, and exploitative influences.

Where appropriate, concerns may be referred to relevant authorities in line with UK safeguarding obligations and Prevent guidance.

Data Protection & Confidentiality

Safeguarding information will be handled sensitively and in accordance with applicable UK data protection legislation, including the UK GDPR and Data Protection Act 2018.

Information will only be shared where necessary:

  • To protect individuals from harm
  • To comply with legal obligations
  • To support safeguarding investigations or referrals
Complaints Procedure

If any individual is dissatisfied with how a safeguarding concern has been handled, they may submit a formal complaint to Padium management for review.

We are committed to ensuring concerns are addressed fairly, appropriately, and transparently.
